California Getting Closer
A budget agreement has apparently been reached in California after the longest period with a budget in modern times. You would think that the politicians in Sacramento could get this done on time, but the state capitol is so split that they can't even agree on what day it is, it seems. Radicals at either end of the spectrum refuse to budge from their positions and this nothing substantive gets done. The people who suffer, even when the budget is reached are not the politicians and their cronies, but the working people and especially the state workers. It seems that they are taking much of the burden of the budget crisis on their backs. It's a sad commentary on the state of the U.S. today.
