Turning off the Moderate Voter

I was listening to the news and had an inkling that attach ads may be intended to so wear down the rational, moderate voter that they don't participate in the process. I know that I am disgusted by ads on both sides and, except for the fact that I have already voted by mail, would be discouraged from doing so by these ads. With the moderates turned off to voting, the radicals at both ends of the spectrum have free reign in the election to get their candidates elected by smaller percentages of the population. Political strategists at both ends are smart . . . I wonder . . .
